Welcome! I started this blog because I love to craft. I dabble with scrap booking, and card making. I love bending, folding and tweaking paper. I try other crafts, too. I hope to share some projects with you.

Dragonfly ATC Swap

I have always loved dragonflies. As a child I was told that if a dragonfly lands on the end of your fishing pole that you were going to catch a fish. As an adult I still believe it. I don't catch as many fish as I once did. The insecticides and the herbicides have taken a toll on both dragonflies and fish. I still feel a thrill if I have a dragonfly land on the tip of my pole. So I tried to capture the magic in the ATC that I made for this swap.

This ATC started with a photo that I used a photo editing program to remove the fishing pole and dragonfly. Then I changed the water color from murky green to blue. I used Glossy Accents to make the water look wet. I then used green flock for the grass. I didn't have any green Flower Soft so I put a small amount of ivory Flower Soft in a small container and colored it green with watercolors. While it was drying using a dragonfly stamp I stamped several dragonflies on a piece of paper and then scanned it into a photo editing program and re-sized it. Then I printed it onto vellum. The dragonfly was painted with Extreme Glitter paint in hologram for the wings and black for the body. I sat it aside while I hand cut the fishing pole. I used black string for the fishing line. Then I went back and added the green Flower Soft that I made for the vegetation on the shoreline. Then I glued my fishing pole in place. I went back to my dragonfly and cut it out and glued it onto the end of my fishing pole.
