Welcome! I started this blog because I love to craft. I dabble with scrap booking, and card making. I love bending, folding and tweaking paper. I try other crafts, too. I hope to share some projects with you.

Mermaid ATC Swap

I recently joined an ATC Mermaid Swap. I think mermaids are fun. Last summer while looking for water creatures for another swap, I bumped into a mermaid picture that I just loved. So I saved it hoping to one day get the chance to use it. Now was my chance.  How could I not join this swap.

MY MERMAID ATC

This started with re-sizing that picture that I was talking about. I really loved this mermaid...she is just so different than most other mermaids. I thought using the Tiger Fish for her body was just unreal. It looked like a beautiful dress with ribbons flowing. I painted all the details with Extreme Glitter paint using a detail brush. In case you don't know what that is, it is a tiny paint brush with a few hairs making it paint a line finer than a sharp pencil. The black glitter was applied using that same brush with glue and then sprinkling Ultra Fine Black Glitter over it and tapping away the extra. The black Extreme Glitter paint was disappointing. The sea weed that crosses her chest and runs down her arm was done with a green glitter gel pen. I highlighted her face by outlining it with a gold gel pen and then using my fingertip I worked it away from her face leaving a little behind to empathize her face, as before it was very hard to see. I then covered the fish with Glossy Accents and then using Glossy Accents I gave her a few air bubbles drifting away from her mouth and nose. I then cut the seaweed from green vellum using my Silhouette and glued it in place.

THESE ARE THE ATC'S I RECEIVED

 Madeline Semple

 Gabriele Haider

Jo Giessner

I really love my new Mermaid ATC's. I keep thinking that I need to stop making them for awhile...work on some other art projects. But then I receive my new ATC's from other artists and I just can't stop now. I need to gather even more of these little works of art. Thanks ladies. I love them.

Take Care
