Welcome! I started this blog because I love to craft. I dabble with scrap booking, and card making. I love bending, folding and tweaking paper. I try other crafts, too. I hope to share some projects with you.

Embossing Swap

I recently joined a swap called "Embossing". The hostess wanted these cards done with embossing powder. So many times I have stamped an image and then sprinkled embossing powder over it then using heat to set the image. So this time I decided to challenge myself by making my own embossing stencil.

I made this image by first making my own embossing stencil using my Silhouette machine. I re-sized a feather cutting die and placed it repeating it randomly making this cutting stencil. I cut two out of a manilla file folder. Then I layered them and glued them together. I then ran blue card stock through my Big Shot die cutting machine embossing it with my feather stencil. I used an ink pad over it lightly leaving the raised feathers a darker shade of blue. Then using a piece of white card stock I glittered the outside edge blue, and placed my embossed feathers on it.

Using Sapphire embossing powder I stamped two different feathers onto blue card stock. Then I cut them out and glued them in place. I then stamped the bird using Marcasite embossing powder. I cut it out and glued it in place. As a finishing touch I cut a piece of blue fiber and tied it around the ends of the feathers.

I really can't believe how beautiful these ATC's really are. I emboss often but I really enjoyed seeing the way other artists use embossing to create their art. these are a welcome addition to my collection. Thank you so much ladies. I love these little treasures!
