Welcome! I started this blog because I love to craft. I dabble with scrap booking, and card making. I love bending, folding and tweaking paper. I try other crafts, too. I hope to share some projects with you.

Kite ATC Swap

This sounded like a fun swap. I thought it would be a nice change of pace to make something a little bit different. For a very long time, actually every spring I think about making a mobile using kites as the shape. I thought that they would be quick and fun to make. I thought that these would give me a quick start. I never thought any more about it until I received my returns. Then it came to me that these won't work because they need to be finished on both sides. Everyone knows that mobiles move showing both sides. So I still don't have the start of a mobile. Ok, maybe next spring.

I started this ATC by first cutting out my kite shape from light weight cardboard.I picked a piece of scrap book paper that had some sky showing. I applied Mod Podge to the cardboard and then pressed the scrap book paper down onto it. While it was drying I re-sized one of my favorite fairies and printed and cut her out. I then painted her wings with Extreme Glitter paint. While waiting for the glitter paint to dry on her I punched some maple leaves out of vellum and glued them around the outside edge of the kite so that it would look as though she were flying through the branches of a tree. I cut pieces of green ribbon and tied them with string to create the tail of the kite.
