Welcome! I started this blog because I love to craft. I dabble with scrap booking, and card making. I love bending, folding and tweaking paper. I try other crafts, too. I hope to share some projects with you.

Quick ATC Album

I know that I make a lot of books. This one is just a little different. It's not quite handmade...but with my additions it has that handmade feel. I think that it's time to share an idea with you that is really quick and easy. I know that many of you don't have the time to make a handmade book. This book everyone will have time to make.
I have a friend that sends me an ATC from just about every swap that she enters. After time they really started to add up. In a ring binder I kept having to move cards around to keep hers in a special place. Finally I took them out and put them into a box so that I could look at them without looking through a three ring binder for them. I really wasn't happy with that arrangement. I decided it was time to make a special book to put them into.

With ATC's Inside

This is one of those small photo albums that are sold everywhere that photo albums are. Many people carry one in their purse or car filled with pictures of their kids, grandkids, vacation, or special occasions. I used to carry one with pictures of my furbabies in. I picked up this one at Walmart. I looked it over to make sure that the cover could be taken out of the plastic sleeve. Yours doesn't have to be that way. You could just decorate the cover on top of the plastic. I cut out the cat from pink card stock and then glittered it with pink glitter. I then cut out the title in black card stock and glittered it with black. I glued the cat and title in place and then went about filling my quick book with ATC's. I first cut 4"x6" pieces of scrap book paper. I then mounted my ATC's on them. Then I slipped them back into the pages of the quick album. This will hold 48 ATC's, or 52 if you put them on the inside of the front and back covers. It's time to think about making another one. I don't mind this really was quick and easy!

Marvelous May Tag Swap

The theme for this month was Marvelous May. Spring is such a marvelous time of the year. There is so much happening as the winter cold gives way to sunny summer. I really love watching for the baby ducks, geese and swans, not to mention the beautiful flowers.

Front of Tag

Back of Tag

The front of the tag is a decoupage. I found an image that I loved on the internet. I made two copies and then cut the children and the maypole out. The background was not the most beautiful color in the world so I discarded it and made my own using watercolors. I glued three ribbons onto the maypole and then glued them in place in the children's hands. I then used Flower Soft on the flowers at their feet and in their hair.
The background of the back of the tag is scrap book paper. The little girl is once again decoupage. I love cutting and layering images. I made Green Flower soft for the leaves on the tree by staining ivory Flower Soft with green alcohol ink. I used Flower Soft for the flowers at her feet.
