August Tag Swap "Dawg Days Of Summer"

   I often wonder why August is called the dog days of summer. I really thought that it was because the heat made everyone want to lounge in the cool shade like a lazy dog. The past few summers August has been anything but warm. It's so cool that it feels like summer is over. One of the tags that I received for this swap explains that it's because the ancients believed that Sirius the Dog Star was close to the sun and responsible for causing the hot weather. So now we all know.

THIS IS THE TAG I MADE

   This is just a simple watercolor. My studio is such a mess because I usually have a few projects going at a time. When I finish one I jump into the next already going on late project without cleaning my area. I had to work on this tag on the porch because there was no place to work in my studio. To make it easy on myself I just grabbed some watercolor paper, a watercolor stack, a water brush and sat down at the picnic table. I let my furkids Skeeter The Little Prince, and Cindy Princess Hefty Hinny, out on the porch with me. They are the little models.

   I hope that you enjoy these tags as much as I enjoyed seeing them. I love these tags, sometimes they feel like a bit of a challenge. I come up with the theme and then get mind block and can't think of what to do with it.
