Welcome! I started this blog because I love to craft. I dabble with scrap booking, and card making. I love bending, folding and tweaking paper. I try other crafts, too. I hope to share some projects with you.

December Tag "All Things Christmas"

The theme for December was "All Things Christmas". I thought that it would be fun to not ask for Santas, trees, or lights. Christmas is so many things to so many people. I guess most of all it's the busiest time of the year. There were only two players other than me.

THIS IS THE TAG THAT I MADE

I made the watercolor painting a few years ago for a dog rescue group that I belonged to. I cut the sleigh and little dogs from the painting and using foam squares I mounted it on a pretty snowflake scrap book paper background. I added Snow Writer at the bottom of the sleigh and then touched it with glitter glue. I used glitter pens to give the light string some flash. The snowflakes were made using a punch and foil, glitter paper, and a rhinestone.

The pocket is trimmed with Dollar Store tape and more of the handmade snowflakes. I tucked a miniature copy of my original Christmas card on the front and the greeting inside of the pocket.

I wanted to join a Mini Christmas Card swap but was too sick to finish them in time..so I used my card for my December tag.

Once again better later than never. These two ladies are to be admired. They were the only two that entered and completed the whole year of tags. My hat is off to them. If not for them, I know that I never would have finished all twelve tags. Thank you ladies.

November Tag Swap "Things I'm Thankful For"

For the November Tag Swap I chose the theme "Things I'm Thankful For". It wasn't the easiest tag for me to work on. At the time I was still recovering from a long illness. Sometimes when you have a long illness you find it hard to be thankful. I finally managed to finish my tag but it spent a long time in my studio waiting to be sent off to it's new home. I had to apologize a couple of times for the delay in swapping out these tags. It was embarrassing to say the least.

These were some truly beautiful tags and the artists should be proud. A lot of hard work went into these tags. I'm just so sorry that it took so much time to give them the acknowledgement that they deserved.

October Tags "All Things Fall"

The tag theme for October was "All Things Fall". I felt that it would give everyone in the swap a little more freedom than making the theme something like "Halloween, harvest, or falling leaves".

For this tag I chose a dark rusty background paper. I then made an overlay using assorted Angelina Fibers in shades of coppers and gold. The tree was cut from black card stock using a Silhouette cutting file and then placed onto the tag. Then using shades of vellum and a hand punch I punched out assorted color leaves and glued then into place on the branches of the tree. I finished it by applying a sticker to black card stock and then trimming off the extra card stock.. Then using homemade black foam squares I put it in place. I then finished it off by gluing a few vellum leaves to the pumpkin stalk.

For the back I re-sized a piece of scrap book paper and glued it onto the back of the tag. Then I made more of the card stock backed stickers. I arranged them onto the tag using layers of foam squares to give them dimension. It is so easy to do and it makes inexpensive stickers into show stoppers.

It is always a thrill to see what these talented artists come up with. I always want to keep them all but alas it is a swap and I can only keep one. The rest are swapped and traded among the artists.
